The World Health Organization (WHO) launched the Breathe Life campaign in 2016 to build awareness and understanding of the health impacts of air pollution with the aim of driving audiences to action and urging elected leaders to implement policy changes that will reduce emissions and save lives. After the success of this campaign, WHO was looking to maintain momentum through a series of new creative digital assets.

Purpose partnered with WHO to produce a 60-second animated video that tells the story of the impacts of air pollution on the human body. The video distinguished itself from generic educational explainers with monochromatic, geometric frames that communicated scientific processes in a compelling and accessible manner.

The video and accompanying social graphics were shared in the six official WHO languages. In English, the video generated upwards of 60,000 organic views on Facebook.
