David Albert Michael Amira
As a Purpose Campaigner in Nairobi, Kenya, David Amira brings together more than a decade of experience in strategic communications and a passion for human centered design. With a background in marketing, communications and event management, he delivers cultural engagement that marries relevance and function for audiences. At Purpose, he has worked with non-profit clients including Children’s Investment Fund Foundation and The IKEA Foundation.
Before joining Purpose, David led a consultancy working closely with advertising agencies, working with brands that include Nivea, Samsung and KFC to name a few. Prior to the consultancy, David spent his formative years working in consumer insight generation with Instant Grass International, event management with the Cape Town International Jazz Festival and Capital FM.
David graduated from the University of Cape Town with a BSocSc. in Economics and Industrial Sociology, thereafter completing a postgraduate degree in Advertising and Marketing Communication Management at the Red & Yellow Creative School of Business in Cape Town, South Africa.
When he’s not spending time with his Jack Russell, Limon, David can be found out on a campsite, or collaborating with Nairobi’s creative community.
