Cannes Lions Awards Recognizes Purpose & the UN’s Verified Campaign

Purpose is honored to be shortlisted in the 2021 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity for the Verified campaign with the United Nations! Verified is shortlisted in the Cannes Lions Sustainable Development Goals: Good Health and Well-Being category.

It is an honor to have our work recognized by this prestigious award – the largest gathering in the creative marketing community – alongside these innovative, world-changing campaigns. The Sustainable Development Goals Lions celebrate creative problem solving, solutions or other initiatives that harness creativity and seek to positively impact the world.

To date, Verified has reached 1 billion people around the globe with life-saving information in 50 languages in over 130 countries to stop the spread of COVID-19 misinformation, and mobilized 78,000+ digital first responders to spread accurate information. The campaign has had over 250 innovative collaborations with unconventional actors to achieve this large scale reach.

Our team is proud to continue to work with the United Nations to use public health information and misinformation counter-tactics to overcome COVID-19. The team continues to evolve the work to meet the changing needs of the community and to address the most pressing needs, like building vaccine confidence. As a global communications initiative, Verified works with UN agencies, UN Information Centers, influencers, civil society, social media platforms, business and media organizations.
