Madison Walsh

Senior Assistant to the CEO

Maddie brings her organizational super powers, expertise in people, and past experience as a middle school teacher to the role of providing unwavering support and positivity to Purpose’s CEO. She aims to connect people, build systems, and manage projects in a way that maximizes efficiency and impact for the greater Purpose team and our work.

Before joining Purpose, Maddie worked in the education sector as a teacher and instructional coach. She began her career with Teach for America in the Mississippi Delta, where she learned about the power of community and gained a deeper understanding of the inequities that impact our country. Following that experience, she continued her work in education as a teacher and instructional coach at a charter school in Nashville, TN. At the same time, she co-founded Girls Write the World, a girls-only summer writing and youth development program for high school students, which aims to provide a safe space for female creativity and empowerment. Each of these experiences has widened her worldview, strengthened her leadership skills, and increased her desire to effect positive change.

Maddie graduated from the College of the Holy Cross with a BA in Economics and Peace & Conflict Studies.

Outside of the office, Maddie can often be found addressing envelopes for her friends’ weddings, exploring national parks, or reading young adult literature recommended by a former student.
