Purpose will be hosting  Stand Up for Good at its NYC office on Thursday, July 23rd.  The event, part of Purpose Fireside: A Series of Art & Activism, will feature a happy hour and night of stand up comedy, followed by a Q&A with the comedians.  Purpose Senior Director and Head of Creative, Hannah Kreiswirth, shared the inspiration behind this event and the Art & Activism series: “Art is the original form of activism –– natural to human communication and paramount to social progress. From cave drawings to that cat meme, creativity speaks to people as people–– it invites them into an issue on an emotional and human level.”

Purpose believes that humor offers an effective entry point for introducing new audiences to often times difficult social issues and for more deeply engaging existing ones. When used well, humor has unparalleled potential to challenge assumptions, reframe issues, undergird strong, memorable narratives, and evoke strong emotions.

The comedians performing on Thursday integrate social issues into their program.  We hope you will join us for a night of laughter and conversation. RSVP here.
