Purpose comes to Australia

Our CEO and co-founder, Jeremy Heimans, started campaigning and movement-building in his native Australia from the age of 8 when he ran media campaigns and lobbied leaders on issues like children’s rights and nuclear non-proliferation. Then in 2005, he co-founded GetUp, an Australian political organization and internationally recognized social movement phenomenon that today has more members than all of Australia’s political parties combined.

It was these experiences that led to his creation of Purpose in New York nearly a decade ago. Over the years Purpose has collaborated with some amazing Australian organisations and campaigners, most notably, since 2015, we have been working with The Fred Hollows Foundation, to mobilise audiences across the world to take action on ending avoidable blindness through the See Now campaign. We are now incredibly excited to announce that Purpose is opening an office in Jeremy’s hometown, Sydney.
