Purpose India is based in New Delhi.

Our office serves as a hub for leading air pollution and clean energy transition campaigns like Help Delhi Breathe, #MyRightToBreathe, 100% Uttar Pradesh, and 100% Bihar. We also lead campaigns on eye health care, women’s access to health care with dignity, electric mobility and countering hate speech on social media platforms.

Ila Bose

Project Manager, Purpose Climate Lab

Ila Bose is a Project Manager for Purpose Climate Lab in India. Her work involves supporting the team on building campaign strategies, monitoring work flow, and ensuring impactful campaigns on the ground.

She has been working in the social development sector since 2012. In the past, Ila has held the position of Senior Project Coordinator at ACCESS Development Services, a national level development organization in India, running an Asia-level summit campaign on incubating innovations and sustainable models for livelihoods promotion of the poor. She has previously worked at the Centre for Urban and Regional Excellence (CURE) in India on conceptualization, implementation, and monitoring of projects in slum redevelopment and upgradation tackling issues of sanitation, water conservation, and reproductive health.

Ila has a Master's Degree in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics and a Bachelors Degree in Philosophy Honors. She has past experience in writing research papers for development organizations on marginalized communities in urban cities. She is also a passionate animal activist and works on rehabilitating and rescuing homeless animals in urban cities.  

Navdha Malhotra

Social Media Strategist, Purpose Climate Lab

Navdha Malhotra is a Social Media Strategist at Purpose Climate Lab. Her role involves building and implementing digital strategies for our projects in India, growing and strengthening audience engagement, and building capacity for local partners. 

A digital communications specialist, Navdha was previously with Greenpeace India as a Digital Campaigner and then Interim Head of Mobilisation. She led the digital mobilization for the Save Forests campaign and Greenpeace's rapid response work. 

Prior to this, Navdha worked with HelpAge International in London where she coordinated online communications content and advocacy activities for HelpAge's 40 regional offices. 

She has worked in the development sector in India, United Kingdom, Ethiopia, and Vietnam on issues including education, older people's rights, gender, and violence against women. 

Navdha holds a Master's Degree in Critical Media and Cultural Studies from School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. She is also an aspiring ceramics artist and the Co-founder of Museum of Material Memory, a digital repository of material culture from the Indian subcontinent.

Reecha Upadhyay

Campaigns Director, Purpose Climate Lab

Reecha Upadhyay works as the Campaigns Director for the Purpose Climate Lab in our India office. She leads, manages, and strategizes all of our India work. 

Reecha has spent the last decade working in India on disaster management, gender, sexuality, and violence against women.  She also started Jamun, a boutique film production company in Delhi which develops unique digital content.  

Before that, Reecha worked for the United Nations Development Programme on conflict and disaster prevention and recovery in New York, Geneva, South Sudan, and New Delhi. She has has worked with a number of local NGOs in New York, Thailand, Nepal, and India. She has developed and implemented global advocacy campaigns like the Stop Rape Now campaign to end sexual violence and the One Billion Rising campaign in Delhi. She has developed content and communication strategies for human rights, environment justice, labour rights, and peace and security issues. 

Reecha holds a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from the New School University in New York.
