Purpose proudly supports a Day Without a Woman, being recognized on International Women’s Day, March 8th. A Day Without a Woman is a one-day demonstration of economic solidarity where women and their allies will act together for equity, justice, and the human rights of women and all gender-oppressed people.
Purpose deeply values all of its female employees and their contributions to our organization- our work simply would not be possible without the women of Purpose or the women of the world. Purpose will be supporting this day by giving paid-time to our employees to honor this day as they see fit, whether it be by joining rallies, attending gatherings, or lending their voice or time on this historic day.
Purpose adds its voice in standing up for women today and everyday. We proudly join the millions that have joined the Women’s March movement and the numerous supporting organizations around this country in honoring and celebrating the enormous value that women of all backgrounds add to our socio-economic system, while receiving lower wages and experiencing greater inequities, vulnerability to discrimination, sexual harassment, and job insecurity.
We are raising our voices together again. We join in solidarity with all women and their allies, and especially women of color, trans women, immigrant women, refugee women, women who work in the home, women who work outside the home, and all those who believe that women’s rights are human rights.
