The Purpose Climate Lab team in India – as part of the Clean Air Coalition – recently used International Yoga Day as an opportunity to raise awareness about toxic air, and to challenge the narrative that air pollution is just a winter problem.

The coalition held events in five cities – Delhi, Bombay, Varanasi, Bangalore, and Kolkata where they did a quick yoga session with people wearing masks. Most of the events also became an opportunity to do some offline public engagement and talk to other groups doing yoga about the air pollution issue.

The events got a lot of media traction, especially in Kolkata and Varanasi, with a lot of local media attending the event. Read more about the campaign in The Quint.
