“I never really wanted to be part of this debate. I didn’t have a choice. I was just a random guy walking down the street and got shot.” These words were shared by gun violence survivor, 30 year-old Antonius Wiriadjaja, a wearable technologies professor at NYU who was shot in Brooklyn by a stray bullet.

We were honored to be given the opportunity to share Antonius’ powerful story as he was reunited with John Morant, the man who saved his life. The original documentary produced by Purpose called “Looking for a Savior” was released earlier this week via Fast Company.

Purpose is very passionate about gun safety.  Through the course of our work with Everytown and other organizations in the space, we have discovered so many powerful stories that we felt an urge and responsibility to share those experiences.  We wanted to humanize the issue and put a face to it by telling the story of real people whose lives have been forever changed by the issue.
