The world is currently facing the worst refugee crisis since World War II, with more than 50 million people officially counted as refugees. The Syria crisis alone has created a staggering 3.3 million refugees.

Every day, the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) is on the front lines of this crisis, working to safeguard the rights and wellbeing of refugees. Hamdi Ulukaya, founder and CEO of Chobani, has partnered with UNHCR to become a leading advocate for refugees across the world.  In addition to becoming the largest private donor to UNHCR, Ulukaya has launched the Hamdi Foundation, committed to building campaigns that demand real action from the world’s leaders.

Addressing this crisis requires leadership from all walks of life. Governments must do more to meet the urgent needs of refugees by unlocking crucial funding for UNHCR and other leading organizations. But private citizens, too, have a critical role to play. Ulukaya and UNHCR have collaborated with Purpose, to launch a public awareness campaign and develop a powerful video and other content, to shed light on the urgency of the crisis and the need for a collective public response.

The video reminds us all what’s at stake by taking us on a journey through a Manhattan where the 1.5 million residents have fled their homes…
