Alessandra Orofino
Strategy
Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, Alessandra Orofino joined the Purpose team in our very early days, immediately upon moving to New York. She was so fascinated by working in a start-up environment that she decided to do it all again, by starting our first overseas office, Purpose Brasil.
Alessandra is also a co-founder and Executive Director of Meu Rio, a Purpose partner that is developing tools for civic engagement and participation in Rio de Janeiro. More recently, she has become a faculty member at the School of Visual Arts, contributing to their pioneering program in Design for Social Innovation.
Prior to coming to Purpose, Alessandra worked at a corporate social responsibility consultancy that provides strategic advice to major Brazilian corporations, and in women’s rights advocacy and research in Brazil and India. She holds a degree in Economics and Human Rights from Columbia University.
